What’s happening @ Stampin Up??

SOOOO   MUCH!!!!!

Where do I begin????  Well, firstly I must apologise!  It’s been far too long in between blog posts!! Unfortunately I have been busy blogging and creating a little Website wonder for other people :).

We have still been making some gorgeous creations in class each week and still creating new and interesting designs after over 12 months of weekly classes!  This week is no exception!  We will be dabbling in the new “Project Life” by Becky Higgins…

 

Project Life is the latest craze to hit Scrapbooking!  It is a wonderful and quick way to get all of those loose photos safely tucked into an album with some gorgeous accessories to make it soooo EASY!!!  This also makes for the perfect holiday crafting as you don’t need to pack away all of your supplies.  Becky has designed this gorgeous box which you can just pick up and take with you.  Along with plenty of other exciting accessories, check them out here.

Next month will see the launch of the new 2014~2015 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue!  So everyone knows what that means…….

Class Tonight….

What do you get with baby wipes, a transparency & mini brads?? A really cool card!!! This is tonight’s class project…

This is the most simple technique and has such a cool unique look!

For those who are wondering, I run evening classes every Thursday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and cost $15 including all materials.

Daytime classes are changing next month {March} to every 2nd Friday 11am to 1pm.

She has her leaves!!!

 

I don’t know if you remember last year I featured this gorgeous beauty here.  Well…. I thought I’d revisit her just before Christmas and share her gorgeous beauty with her leaves on!

So……here she is………

Isn’t she BEAUTIFUL!!!  I think she looks even more beautiful with her leaves on!

           There is a wonderful tradition in a little town near Hamilton called Tarrington called “Lanternan Fest”.  It is one of those wonderful activities which brings communities together.  Locals can decorate a hay bale and there is a competition to select the best one!

Locals also celebrate with a Festival at the local school {which I had a stall at, the atmosphere was fabulous!} and finish the night with a procession carrying lanterns through the streets looking at the bales, just wonderful!  Pick the bale designed by the very talented lady who owns the Yarn Bombed Tree….

In the mean time…. are we counting down to Sale~a~brations?????  Only 5 SLEEPS!!!  And it is just FABULOUS ~ very RETRO {sooo my cup of tea :)}

To celebrate, I will be having a launch night on Friday 31st of January @ 7.30pm.  This night is free of charge and you will be able to have a little play around with some of the Sale~a~brations goodies and some of the new Seasonal Catalogue goodies ~ and if you know me, there is always food involved :).

2014 is going to be a BIG year so come along for the RIDE!!!  I look forward to meeting you, if you’ve never stopped by, or catching up with you if I haven’t seen you over the holidays!

Christmas is over too quickly…

How was your Christmas?  Ours was full of fun and tradition….

Christmas Eve was spent driving around looking at the gorgeous Christmas lights around town…

One of my students’ beautiful Christmas trees with some of her yummy gourmet treats {I received one of the gorgeous jars which was a beautiful “brownie in a jar”}, she is so creative!  And if you look really closely, you will see some clay tags we made in class.

Christmas @ my Studio

This year has been truly incredible!  I don’t really believe in New Years resolutions, so this year I set myself more of a goal than a resolution and that was to learn to crochet!

I never dreamt it would take me where it has….. I went from only ever knitting a scarf to knitting 2 jumpers (one had lacework) to also learning to crochet and making beautiful goodies (as seen on our gorgeous pony) and lovely decorations like the star below.

It has been slightly difficult living in a small town and not having someone like my mother to teach me these wonderful skills, but instead I have met the beautiful ladies at the Spinners & Weavers Guild and also learnt to weave.  My next “goal” is to learn to spin…..after all I do live in “Hamilton ~ Wool Capital of the World”!!!  Such a wonderful slogan!

My Studio has certainly gone in its own direction which has been incredibly exciting!  I would love to share this with my wonderful students and fellow crafters.  So this Saturday night I am having an Open Studio evening where you can come along and check out what we have been up to this year, have some supper and make a couple of Chrissy goodies to take home! I am really looking forward to meeting you and you might be surprised what you can find in a small town!  Just email me for the address, I am on the edge of the town boundary, so only 5 minutes from the Post Office :).
